KVK, Udalguri
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Udalguri is a district-level Farm Science Centre dedicated to transferring the latest agricultural technologies to the farming community and bridging the gap between production and productivity. Established in 2012 under the administrative control of Assam Agricultural University (AAU), the KVK is located at Lalpool, near the SSB Camp, with a total farm area of 200 bigha.
Since its inception, KVK Udalguri has been working relentlessly for the socio-economic upliftment of the farming community through scientific interventions across agriculture and allied sectors. The Kendra follows a participatory and partnership-based approach, collaborating with allied departments, agencies and community-based organizations to strengthen rural development.
A key focus of the KVK is on capacity building. It places special emphasis on training and education for farmers, farm women, rural youth, entrepreneurs, extension functionaries, voluntary organizations and financial institutions. Its training programs are known for being need-based, skill-oriented, and grounded in the principles of “learning by doing” and “teaching by doing.”T
