Connecting farmers of Udalguri district with national PM-KISAN events through telecasts, webcasting and live screenings
Introduction
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Udalguri has been regularly organising webcasting, live-screening and awareness programmes on PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) to facilitate farmers’ participation in important national events related to the scheme. Farmers from different parts of the district participated in these programmes and witnessed the telecast and webcasting of the ceremonial release of various instalments of PM-KISAN. The programmes also provided an opportunity to sensitise farmers about the objectives, benefits and provisions of the scheme.
About the Scheme
PM-KISAN is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, launched in February 2019, to provide income support to landholding farmer families. Under the scheme, financial benefit is transferred directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), helping them meet their agricultural and household needs.
