Increasing income through Oyster Mushroom Cultivation
Mr. Chokan Boro, a 42 year old farmer residing at Balisiha village, Udalguri learned that mushroom cultivation is more economical and feasible. Hence seeing market potential he started Oyster mushroom cultivation during 2012 in small scale. He has attended a vocational training programme conducted by scientist of KVK Udalguri and came into the contact with the KVK for technical guidance. KVK Udalguri conducted demonstration on Oyster Mushroom in five different location of the district and he is one of the beneficiaries. The KVK also motivated him to participate in district/state level exhibitions. Presently his farm is known as ‘Chakradhar Mushroom Industry” which is registered under DICC, Udalguri which involved in markeing both fresh and dried mushroom locally in the village and nearby towns. He earns Rs.12000 per month with a B:C ratio of 2.81
