Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Udalguri observed PM-Kisan Utsav Diwas on 20 June 2026 to commemorate the release of the 23rd instalment of PM-KISAN as part of the nationwide celebrations.
The programme was graced by Smt. Nilima Devi, Hon’ble Minister for Animal Husbandry & Veterinary and Fisheries, Government of Assam and Guardian Minister of Udalguri district. She highlighted various farmer-centric initiatives of the Central and State Governments and urged eligible farmers to avail themselves of the benefits of different welfare schemes.
The programme included the live telecast of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address, during which the 23rd instalment of PM-KISAN was released, transferring more than ₹18,880 crore to over 9.44 crore eligible farmer families through Direct Benefit Transfer.
On the occasion, the Hon’ble Minister distributed agricultural inputs, including seeds and sprayers, to selected farmers. She subsequently visited the instructional farm and demonstration units of KVK, Udalguri and appreciated the scientific and extension activities undertaken for the farming community.
The programme was attended by Smt. Laxmi Kutum, Additional District Commissioner, Udalguri; Dr. Diganta Sharma, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK, Udalguri; officials from various line departments; and a large number of farmers. The event concluded with a renewed commitment towards farmer welfare and sustainable agricultural development.
